UNCONVENTIONAL CONVENTION
What is a longread? A few weeks ago we had a workshop at the Moscow State University on how to do a longread.
A longread, or a snowfall as they sometimes call it, is a form of online journalism in which you write longer articles that you can scroll instead of short clips and snippets. This way the author gets a chance to explain something in as much of a detail as he or she wants, and the reader gets a full picture. Everyone wins!
After the workshop we were excited to start our own longread, and choosing the topic took the shortest amount of time. We love our Regional Student Convention, and this longread is dedicated to our look on it. It isn’t official, it doesn’t have all the formal information, but it is the way we students see it and want to show it to the world. Hence, the name:
The Unconventional Convention.
For those of you who don’t know anything about our convention at all, here is a brief reference article.
What is Convention?
Regional Student Convention is a yearly event where
students from different parts of the world who are using the ACE* curriculum gather
together to compete for medals and have fun with their friends and teachers.
Since 1997, students from over 50 countries have participated, each year
bringing more members to the Convention. Everyone has an opportunity to be a
part of the big “Convention Family” and enjoy their time with a cause.
